“Independent Musicians are more in need of quality Mixing and Mastering than major label artists: The equipment, & room acoustics are often less than ideal; resulting in a recording that requires specialized software & equipment by an experienced professional to achieve a competitive sound. This is a unique Mixing and Mastering approach developed for the abundance of home studio recordings by independent artists.....”

 -Rick Sheill, Chief Sound Engineer,

Overload Entertainment MixLab

Mixing is the sophisticated art of blending the components of a recording to make all the parts work together sonically and control the dynamic levels..... At the end of the recording process, all the vocals, drums, guitars, etc. are then carefully edited, adjusted, equalized, compressed, arranged, automated, & processed to produce a professional “polished” sound. These “mixed” tracks are combined to form a bounce, “mix-down” or “stereo mix”

Mastering is the final step before duplication. A precise series of equalization, compression, leveling, processing and limiting techniques. This process increases the volume of a recording & unifies the CD; allowing a consistent sound from track to track. It is the difference between a CD that sounds good and a CD that sounds great.
